SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    AUG. 27, 2007
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING                                                                                                              5:30 P.M.

PUBLIC WORKS
The Board signed bills and a leave request.  Lynn commented Putnam Welding welded the boom today.  On Wednesday Tri County will fix the leak in the holder.  First Selectman Eldredge asked Lynn to get a letter from the manufacturer of the boom that we repaired it according to their specifications.  Selectman Lewis asked is that machine good for what we need to do?  Discussion on this followed.  Lynn reported that Gorman is chip sealing Old Farms and Daleville Roads, asphalting will be done on Tuesday.  First Selectman Eldredge asked Lynn did you get in touch with Bob Hockla?  Lynn replied yes.  First Selectman Eldredge commented that he looked at the property where there is a question of cleanup on the neighbor’s property after the trees were taken down; he thinks we should clean it up for him.  Discussion followed on the cost to do this.  Lynn will call the tree company to get the cost.  First Selectman Eldredge asked could we put a curb in at Pinney Hill and Luchon Roads?  Lynn will look at this.  Selectman Lewis asked are we done with the vacuuming of the catch basins?  Lynn replied no.  Lynn commented truckers keep driving down Lohse Road and Turnpike Road Extension and destroying guardrails.  Discussion followed on how this might be prevented.  First Selectman Eldredge will contact the Dept. of Transportation about signs; there are no truck turnaround signs there now but that does not seem to deter trucks.

SELECTMAN LEWIS MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:04 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge seconded the motion.
VOTE:  2 YES (ELDREDGE & LEWIS)    0  NO
