Addition of Section 3.12 to the Zoning Bylaws: Establish a Moratorium on the Use of Land or Structures for a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center

The Chair opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. The Clerk, Mr. McKeon, read the Notice of Public Hearing that was published in the Telegram & Gazette on March 13th and March 20th. Mr. Frieden gave a description of the proposed bylaw, which is to establish a moratorium on the use of any land or structures in town for a medical marijuana treatment center until December 31, 2014. Ms. Paré added that this will give the Board time to consider what is appropriate for West Boylston after considering the state Board of Health’s regulations and time to prepare a proposal to go before Town Meeting.
There being no comment from the audience, upon motion of Mr. Vignaly and second of Mr. McKeon, it was unanimously voted to close the public hearing.
