MINUTES OF THE PLANNING BOARD PUBLIC HEARING
HELD SEPTEMBER 12, 2007
PROPOSAL TO AMEND ZONING MAP – CHECKER REAL ESTATE LLC

Ms. Halpin opened the public hearing at 7:00 p.m. Ms. Paré read the legal notice of public hearing that was published in the Telegram & Gazette on August 29th and September 5th. Mr. Patrick Healy from Thompson-Liston Associates represented the applicant, Checker Real Estate LLC. He noted that the Checkerboard business at the site, on the northerly side of Shrine Avenue and approximately 300 feet westerly of West Boylston Street, was expanded three years ago. There remains ample parking at the site, but in the future, the owner may wish to expand his warehouse on a 0.87 acre triangular piece of this land that is currently zoned Single Residence. The applicant requests that this piece of land be rezoned to Business District as well. A letter of support was received today by the
Planning Board from an abutter, Mr. Joseph Evangelista, in support of the proposal.
Ms. Paré noted that this request complies with the recommendation of the Master Plan that lots with split usage be “made whole” (zoned in one district only). Upon motion of Mr. Baker and second of Ms. Paré, it was unanimously voted to close the public hearing.
