Jacob Winn Barn and Giobelina Property

The Commission is displeased with the destruction and removal of all materials from the Giobelina property on Fairbanks St.  Despite letters and phone calls to the DCR regarding the preservation and retrieval of archival materials from the barn, all materials were removed and disposed of by unknown parties.  The commission was unable to photograph and document the destruction of the property.  A letter will be sent regarding our feelings in this oversite.

The Jacob Winn Barn dismantling is still on hold.  The commission has the inmates from the Worcester County House of Correction lined up to strip the building and prepare for its transport to the Historical Society.  The state is awaiting final approval for this project.  It is hoped that the same fate of the Giobellina Property will not be the case with this barn.
