Board of Water Commissioners Minutes 08/10/2009
Minutes Board of Water Commissioners August 10, 2009
Attending: Emily Beebe, Steve Gazzano, Jean Schaefer, Dan Wexman, Lori Vanderschmidt, Paul Sieloff.   6 visitors from Harborside Trailer Park.
We are using the service pipe, to determine connection cost not the meter because it is easier to price:
1 inch = residence          $10,000                   50% REDUCTION FOR THE FIRST YEAR
2 inch =                          $20,000
4 or 6 inch                      $40,000
Owner pays to connect pipe from street to residence or building.
Harborside has 85 residents and 2 private houses.  The trailer park needs a 4 or 6 inch service pipe.  Their connection fee is $40,000 minus 50% reduction for the first year or $20,000.
Dave Bennett made the determination of service pipe size.  He is the operator for waste water treatment.
The Board will vote on connection costs in August or September 2009.
Paul Sieloff wanted clarification of the McNight letter re the litmus test (4 conditions) discussed August 3.   He said that the $5.6 million dollars agreed to by the Town Meeting included administrative costs.  What do we do with excess should there be excess?  Do we return the money to the tax payers? Tax should go down if cost is less.  We cannot use excess for further increase in construction.
Tuesday August 18 is a pre construction meeting re water tower.
