Board of Water Commissioners Minutes 07/24/2008
Wellfleet Board of Water Commissioners
Senior Center Long Pond Room
Thursday, July 24, 2008, 6:30 p.m.

Present: Co-Chairs Moe Barocas; Celeste Makely, Julia Willecke
Absent: Emily Beebe
Also Attending: Attorney Robert Bianchi, Carol Parlante, Michael Parlante, Tim Brady, and Richard Willecke, Chairman of the Board of Health

Co-Chair Moe Barocas called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

After the determination by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) made Friday, July 18, 2008 that the Bookstore Restaurant could be temporarily connected to the Wellfleet Water System and monitored for the summer, the Water Commissioners met to make arrangements and give their approval. Tim Bray of East Cape, representative for the Parlantes, had requested in a letter dated July 21, 2008, a temporary connection to the system.

Barocas moved to agree to a temporary connection for the Bookstore Restaurant with a daily reading log to be kept and be made available for DPW inspection.  Plumbing has to meet with the plumbing inspector’s approval. A determination if the hookup is impeding the system is to be made by Mark Vincent.  The final review will be made at the first BWC meeting in September.   Makely seconded and the motion carried 3-0.

The meeting was adjourned by consensus at 6:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
