· Budget
There has been no response from EPG after Agent Greenberg-Lemos and Alex Hay have contacted them to clarify the budget details which shows the committee is over budget. The committee recognized that the Mayo Beach/Baker area was prioritized by the committee which created additional work for EPG. The committee discussed line items and determined they will have to wait to hear from EPG. Agent Greenberg-Lemos will follow up with EPG and invite Tim King to a meeting.
· The Committee gave Patrick Winslow an overview of what the committee is working on, the organizations and state agencies we are working with, and the mandates.
· A public meeting with the Board of Health is scheduled for March 29, 2012 regarding the bathhouses at Mayo Beach and Bakers Field. Curt Felix will be the lead speaker.
Alex stated there should be a new group/committee formed for the follow-up on the bathhouses.
· Propagation area
o YSI meter/monitor: Agent-Greenberg-Lemos stated she has money for water sampling. There was discussion regarding the water sampling, the data collection information, real-time data, the expense and time involved with manual monitoring, and a different format for sampling which would be a deviation from what has been performed in previous years. Curt Felix suggested working with MA Audubon with grant opportunities for water sampling. Ned Hitchcock
stated samples would have to go to a certified lab. It was recommended the committee talk to WSI representative and ask them for guidance to automate the water quality program.
· Grant Status: MITC grant – seed funding. Request was for cultch but could include water quality program.
· The DPW is still considering recycling shells at the transfer station and many restaurants will be involved with the recycling.
Ned Hitchcock expressed concern that EPG has not integrated Wellfleet specific data in a report. (table of contents).
There has been no response regarding the MEP review letter which was sent. The county hired scientists, which reviewed the “models” and we responded with a letter stating the review was not totally accurate and that there were other tools which could have been used).
Curt Felix moved to approved the amended 3/13/12 meeting minutes; seconded by Ned Hitchcock; passed 3-0.
Ned Hitchcock moved to adjourn at 4:35 pm; seconded by Curt Felix; passed 3-0.
