Chair Hay stated the public hearing would not convene in open session after the interview.
The public hearing was closed at 2:35 pm.

The public hearing was reopened at 3:52 pm.  The Committee unanimously decided to hire Environmental Partners Group based on the highest quality proposal and lowest bid.

The Committee and Environmental Partners Group will participate in the February 2011 Harbor Conference at the morning session.  Chair Hay stated Eastham and Truro have received their MEP results.  Eastham also employed EPG.

The next meeting will be held on November 30, 2010 at 2:30 pm at the DPW building.

Curt Felix presented the Oysterfest 2010 Spat Report.  Highlights included:
Shells recycled directly back to the water from the 2010 Oysterfest would:
·       Remove 10% of the nitrogen from Wellfleet’s winter population equivalent to 300 residents
·       Produce 300,000 to 1,500,000 “free” oysters
·       Filter 22-37 million gallons of water per day which is 10 times as much as Wellfleet produces for wastewater at the summer peak
·       Well in excess of 70% of shells were collected from the Oysterfest shell recycling program probably closer to 90% or 100% since several shell fishermen are recycling their own shells

Ned Hitchcock moved to adjourn at 4:18 pm; seconded by Curt Felix; passed 5-0.

Respectfully submitted,

Christine Bates, Committee Secretary
