Board of Water Commissioners
The meeting of the Board of Water Commissioners was called to order at 7:19 p.m. by Chairwoman Helen Miranda Wilson. Commissioners present included Dale Donovan, Jerry Houk, Ira Wood and Michael May. Town Administrator Tim Smith also attended.
The Board held a public hearing to consider amendments to the Coles Neck Municipal Water System Rules and Regulations. Discussion included amendments submitted by Wilson. Donovan moved and Wilson seconded a motion to establish a seasonal rate schedule for water. The motion was not voted on. The Town Administrator noted the need to work in the costs for the SCADA system and corrosion control. Wilson suggested asking Town Counsel to define “unreasonable charge”. On a motion by Wilson, seconded by Houk, the Board voted unanimously to go to a Coles Neck Municipal Water System with two billing fee schedules, one for “peak period” and one for “off season”. Wilson moved and Donovan seconded a motion to accept the redescription of the original area to
be served as provided on page 2A contingent upon review of the redescription by the consultant. The motion was not voted on. It was suggested that the document, as amended by Wilson, be forwarded to the consultant. On a motion by Donovan, seconded by Wilson, the Board voted unanimously to submit, with the motions taken place tonight, the Coles Neck Municipal Water System Rules and Regulations with Wilson’s suggestions and questions to the consultant. On a motion by Wilson, seconded by Donovan, the Board voted unanimously that if the consultant has questions he be allowed to contact Wilson at will to move through this process as quickly as possible. On a motion by Donovan, seconded by Wilson, the Board voted unanimously to continue this hearing to December 9th at 7:05 p.m. The hearing was closed at 8:07 p.m.
