Minutes of Meeting September 23, 2009

Present: Peter Hall, Chairman; Terry Gips, Barbara E. Gray, Elaine McIlroy, Marcia Seeler, Judy Taylor, Jan Plaue
Regrets: John Ketchum

Chairman Peter Hall called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Agenda Additions
Jan Plaue added discussion of signage, and Elaine McIlroy added some requests for proposals to the agenda.
SB 90 Preparation & News
A group will be going to the State House on September 29, 2009 to support Senate Bill 90, An Act to Sustain Community Preservation.  
STM Article (Promised $30K to Housing Now)
Seeler moved to recommend the Special Town Meeting Warrant Article to grant $30,000 to Housing Now. Plaue seconded and the motion carried 7-0.
Permanent Plaques
Terry Gips had prepared sample plaques that could be installed permanently at CPA project sites.  The Committee discussed the options and agreed that small, unobtrusive plaques would be best.  
Upcoming Projects
Elaine McIlroy discussed the Habitat for Humanity House, which has fundraising underway.  She said they would be likely to be applying for CPA funds.  Another project McIlroy asked if CPA would entertain was a different approach for funding the Gull Pond Affordable Homes, which is struggling to come up with the needed amount to proceed.   The Committee obtained copies of the original application #06-01 and discussed means of adding additional money to the project.
Minutes of 7/22/09
The Committee unanimously approved the minutes of July 22, 2009.
Other Business
The secretary will submit a press release and web notification of the November 15, 2009 deadline for CPA applications.  
Adjournment
Plaue moved to adjourn.  McIlroy seconded, and the motion carried 7-0.  The meeting was adjourned at 10:12 a.m.
