Minutes of Annual Hearing, June 14, 2007
Wellfleet Public Library Meeting Room
Present: Peter Hall, Chair; Dorothy Dolan, Janet Erickson, Barbara Gray, John Ketchum, Elaine McIlroy, Jan Plaue, and Judy Taylor
Absent: Victoria Pecoraro
Also Attending: Elaine LaChapelle and Chuck Cole
Chair Peter Hall opened the annual hearing at 7:05 p.m.
Because the two guests were already familiar with the general operation of the CPC, the chair dispensed with the slide presentation planned for the evening and proceeded to an explanation of the results of the survey sent out to the community asking the citizens to rank in order of importance the four areas open for possible funding. The results were:
1. open space 1.96
2. housing 2.27
3. historic 2.37
4. recreation 3.32 with the highest ranking indicated by the lowest number.
The chair also reviewed the projects that had been approved by the committee and by Town Meeting.
Chuck Cole asked for the procedure for the South Wellfleet Community Association to apply for funds to restore the Pond Hill School. Some discussion also ensued about the affordable housing project approved for the Paine Hollow area.
The public hearing adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
