Minutes of Conservation Commission Public Meeting

Commissioners Present:  Co-Chair Ed Reynolds, Co-Chair Ginie Page, Patrick Winslow, and Terry Gips.

4:00 - Business Meeting & Conservation Agent's Report
Co-Chair Ed Reynolds opened the meeting at timeMinute2Hour164:02 pm.

The Commission talked about potential members to the Commission, as Dottie Dolan will be submitting her resignation shortly.  

Terry Gips stated John Riehl asked her and John DiBlasio to attend the upcoming NRAB meeting which will include the topic of dredging.  She asked the Commission if there is anything they should be concerned about and Andrew Petty stated we would be interested in knowing what type of material will be dredged, where they will put the materials, and if there is a plan to use the sand for nourishment instead of placing it out to sea.         

The mail was reviewed.  

Ginie moved to approve the 11/19/08 meeting minutes as amended; seconded by Terry Gips; passed 3-0.

Ed Reynolds moved to approve the 12/3/08 meeting minutes as amendment; seconded by Patrick Winslow; passed 4-0.

Agent Greenberg reported the construction workers at the Blasch property requested a temporary drift fence due to the blowing sand in the work area.

Greenberg reported there was a community garden meeting last week and it is anticipated there will be 40 raised beds, with additional land available from neighbors.    

Public Hearings 5:00 pm:

Pyles, Bayberry Lane, Map 41, Parcels 121and 122:  Request for Extension.  (Cont’d from 12/17/08).   Sara Turano  Flores and John O’Reilly represented the applicant.  The expiration of the Order of Conditions will be March 2009.   The Pyles have all the necessary permits, but due to the economy, they would like an extension.  O’Reilly stated the site has not changed.  Ginie Page moved to approve a two year extension; seconded by Terry Gips; passed 4-0.      

5:00 pm
PJ’s, 2616 State Hwy, Map 23, Parcel 40, NOI, Septic System Upgrade.  David Lajoie represented the applicant and gave an overview of the project, providing information on the septic system and the work area locations to the resources.  He stated approval was received from the Board of Health.  Terry Gips moved to approve the NOI; seconded by Patrick Winslow; passed 4-0.  Supervisor:  Agents

Patrick Winslow moved to adjourn at 5:22 pm; seconded by Terry Gips; passed 4-0.
