Public Ceremonies Committee Announces Winner of 2017 Lydia Maria Child Award
The Wayland Public Ceremonies Committee is pleased to announce that Anne Becker, leader of the Wayland chapter of the Neighbor Brigade, is the recipient of the 2017 Lydia Maria Child Award for outstanding citizenship.

The Neighbor Brigade is a nonprofit organization that transforms communities into caring networks by which volunteers help their neighbors during times of crisis.  The organization provides temporary support to those affected while strengthening the fabric of a community. Neighbor Brigade volunteers provide non-medical, non-monetary services and collaborate with the shared purpose of helping fellow residents. There are no eligibility requirements for recipients, who may self-refer.

To learn more, go to the Neighbor Brigade website at www.neighborbrigade.org.

The Neighbor Brigade also sponsors the annual Pam’s Run, a road race and walk to raise funds in memory of lifelong Wayland resident Pam Washek.  The Fifth Annual Pam’s Run will be held Sunday, October 15, 2017.  More information is available online at pamsrun.com.

The Public Ceremonies Committee extends its congratulations to Anne Becker for her outstanding work and contributions to Wayland.
