The Wayland Board of Assessors has received Preliminary Certification of values for the Fiscal Year 2015 Assessments.
The Department of Revenue, Bureau of Local Assessment, completed its preliminary review of the Assessors revaluation program and the proposed assessments for all classes of property for fiscal year 2015. The Bureau's statistical analysis of arms-length residential sales indicated compliance with the Commissioner's standards for certification. In addition, the Bureau's review of a representative sample of parcels and of personal property accounts indicated a consistent application of the valuation methodologies employed for these classes of property throughout the community.
All Wayland property owners will receive a notice of their Fiscal Year 2015 Assessment in the mail this week. The letter contains instructions for reviewing assessments and how to schedule an appointment with office staff if they have questions or concerns.
The office staff will be scheduling appointments from October 29th through November 7th. Property owners can contact the Assessing Office at 508-358-3788 during office hours of Monday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday – Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. After November 7th, the public review period will end and the Board of Assessors will request final certification from the Department of Revenue.
