Effective July 11, 2011, the public hours of Town Building will be standardized. All Town departments located there will be open to serve the public according to the following schedule:
Monday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
When a holiday falls on a Monday, Town offices will remain open until 7:00 p.m. on the next day (Tuesday). Should a particular department need to alter the posted hours, especially during the traditional summer vacation period, the exception will be posted on the town website.
In the past, some departments opened at 8:30 a.m. or closed as early as 4:00 p.m. Some offices were open on Monday late afternoon and evening until 7:00 p.m., while others kept more traditional hours closing at 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. For those residents who work out of town and find it difficult to visit Town Building during the traditional workday, the Monday evening option should be more convenient.
It is our hope that standardizing the hours of operation will be more responsive to the needs of the citizens we serve.
