Notice of Public Meeting
The Wareham Board of Health will be holding
a public hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the bottom floor cafeteria of the Wareham Town Hall, located at 54 Marion Road,
Wareham, Ma 02571.
The public hearing will be held to discuss the proposed regulations of water quality pursuant to Chapter 111, Section 31 M.G.L.
Water Quality Protection:
- New Home Construction- to establish for new home construction the setback requirement of 500 feet for all soil absorption systems (S.A.S.) from a water course, wetland (as defined by the wetland protection act 310 CMR 10.00), pond, stream, river and all water wells. If the 500-foot setback limit is not met, a de-nitrification system shall be required with a discharge permit limit of 19 milligrams per liter. Lab analysis will be required 2x per yr. to insure system meets 19 milligrams per year. Groundwater flow direction shall be indicated on all submitted plans.
- Existing Dwellings- the owner and/or its agent of a failed system may apply for a waiver of this regulation from the BOH.
