Town Of Veazie Planning Board Minutes of January 8, 2001 meeting
Chris Cronan called the meeting to order @ 7:00 p.m.
PRESENT: Board members: Chris Cronan (chairman), Peter Reiley, John Manter, Harold Pinkham, Terry Studley, Town Officials: William Reed (manager), Allan Thomas (CEO), Beckie Woods (recorder of minutes), John McCormack (CES), Tim Brochu (CES), Jeff Teunisen (CES), Jim Parker (CES), Brett Park (resident), Barney & Robin Silver (applicant), Phil Buckley (Silver’s lawyer), Rob Freeman (comprehensive plan).
Consideration of minutes: Chris Cronan expressed concerns with the last motion of the 10-02-00 minutes that stated that the checklist for the Land Use Ordinance was “complete with the above-mentioned exceptions.”
-John Manter explained that the checklist items that were provided at that time were complete, not the whole checklist.
-John Manter moved to accept the minutes from the 10-02-00 meeting as prepared. Harold Pinkham seconded the motion. All members were in favor.
-Chris Cronan stated that the minutes of the 09-21-00 are still tabled until Steve Shaler is able to attend a meeting.
ITEM 1: Completion Review – Silver’s Subdivision:

15.05.08.02: Fees: Complete. $5,000.00 paid by Barney Silver on 01-08-01
15.05.08.04:Title Deed: Complete. Allan Thomas faxed copy to Rick Violette (town’s
lawyer), on 01-08-01 for review.
15.05.08.08: Dimensions: Complete. John McCormack provides the Planning Board
with the dimensions of the entire lot.
15.05.08.10: Structures and Easements: Substantially complete. William Reed explains
that he is not concerned with the easements or firms descriptions of roads at this time because the positions of the roads could be subject to change.
15.05.08.11: Drainage Structures: Substantially compete, subject to change.
15.05.08.12: Setback from wetlands: Complete
15.05.08.15: Storm water: Substantially complete
15.05.08.16: Utilities – street lights: Substantially complete pending placement of roads
15.05.08.17: Legal Descriptions, Conditions of Dedication: Submitted for review by Rick

15.05.08.45: Subdivisions: Submitted for review. Chris Cronan feels that the calculation
of open space should include the total acreage of land, not just the acreage
of the subdivision.
15.05.08.47: Legal Documents: Submitted for review
-Chris Cronan moved to deem the checklist sufficiently complete for the public hearing on 02-05-01. Terry Studley seconded the motion.
-An agreement is made between the members of the Planning Board members, CES, and Barney Silver to meet on Friday 01-12-01 to walk over the proposed site.
8:15 p.m. – Five minute breakReconvene @ 8:20 p.m.ITEM 2: Presentation and Discussion of new mapping:Allan Thomas presented the new Planimetric & Topographic mapping to the Planning Board for review. The maps were prepared by James Sewell Co. and are available for use in the Town Office.-Chris Cronan presented a letter to Allan Thomas asking if he can look into decreasing the lighting on the plume at the power plant.ITEM 3: Presentation of cohort study:Manager William Reed mentioned that the Town should consider applying impact fees for all new structures in the Town Of Veazie for school improvement in the future. He also explained that before the Town can apply impact fees, there needs to be a completed state approved Comprehensive Plan in effect.-Rob Freeman updated the Planning Board on the
Comprehensive Plan and states that he will have a complete document for the members to review at the 02-05-01 meeting.-Consideration of 10-16-00 minutes: Minutes were discussed and accepted with a change of wording of the first statement to read “Planning Board met to discuss issues on Silver’s subdivision request on items excepted at 2 Oct. meeting.”Chris Cronan moved to adjourn @ 9:10 p.m.
