Motion By:  Councilor Hogan—to accept the May 16, 2005 and May 18, 2005 minutes as written. It was noted that Councilor Cheney was absent and excused from the May 18, 2005 meeting. Seconded: Councilor Perkins. There was no more discussion. Voted 4-1. Councilor Cheney abstained due to her absence from the May 18 meeting.

ITEM 3. Consideration of the Agenda
Manager Reed noted that he received a letter that he wanted to discuss from the Town Auditor, Charemon Willey-Staples, after sending out the Council packets. The Council took a minute to read the memo, then Manager Reed explained the fund balance policy which was the concern of the memo.

The Manager requested to credit the Municipal Credit Reserve. He noted that the estimated close-out at year-end will be $75,000 or more, due to unspent funds and excess revenues. Manager Reed suggested that a motion be made to move those funds into the Municipal Credit Reserve Account to help stabilize taxes for 2005/2006. Councilor Hogan made that motion. Councilor Perkins seconded the motion. No further discussion. Voted 5-0.

ITEM 5.         Manager’s Report
