MINUTES
MONDAY, December 5, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:25 p.m.
Present were Chair Gerald Zordan, City Councilors Marie Soliani and Greg Cogswell. Mayor Ryan Bingham, Corporation Counsel Ernestine Weaver, Police Chief Michael Maniago and Emergency Management Director Rick DallaValle were also in attendance
Amend Conservation Commission Ordinance
The Ordinance Committee received a request from the Conservation Commission to amend section 15-2 of its ordinance. This section specifically addresses membership. The change would make a quorum 3 members present and allow for alternates. On a motion by Councilor Soliani seconded by Councilor Cogswell, the Committee voted to make the recommendation to the full Counsel.
Shopping Carts
The Mayor made a request of the Committee to examine and implement a shopping cart ordinance. He had asked Mr. DallaValle and Chief Maniago to participate in the meeting as it also included a brainstorming session of the issue, discussion of what had been attempted in the past, and ideas that had been previously brought forward that never gained traction. The Mayor stated that he would present additional information at the committee’s next meeting and asked the committee to tackle the problem.
Beer Service at Fuessenich Park
The Committee will take up this issue at the next ordinance meeting.
There being no further business on a motion by Marie Soliani, seconded by Greg Cogswell, the meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
