MINUTES
MONDAY, JULY 19, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m.
Present were Chair Rick DallaValle, Council member Marie Solani, Comptroller Alice Proulx, and Corporation Counsel Ernestine Weaver.
Establishment of trust for other post employment benefits
Upon discussion for the establishment of an ordinance enabling the Council to create a trust for other post employment benefits the Committee unanimously voted to recommend the draft ordinance to the City Council for its consideration and to schedule a public hearing.
Other business
Corporation Counsel Ernestine Weaver brought to the attention of the Ordinance Committee that the Staff Land Use Committee has concerns over the management of bulky waste in the City. That Committee recommends that the City’s ordinance be revised and would like the City to consider this request. This was favorably received by the Ordinance Committee.
Corporation Counsel Ernestine Weaver also brought to the attention of the Ordinance Committee that the Building Official Brett Zuraitis is also considering revising City ordinance to address the issue or permit refunds. Where there is no clear ordinance on the matter, it has been resolved by the City Council. The Ordinance Committee also had a favorable opinion of that proposition.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
