MINUTES BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT FUND JULY 27, 2009

A REGULAR MEETING of the Board of Trustees of the City Employees Retirement Fund was held on Monday, July 27, 2009, in the Main Room of the Senior Center.
Present were Mayor Ryan J. Bingham, Corporation Counsel Ernestine Yuille Weaver, members of the Board of Trustees of the City Employees Retirement Fund Richard Dalla Valle, Michael Colangelo, Elinor Carbone, Thomas Jerram, Marie Soliani, Drake Waldron, Richard Friday, Delisse Locher, Nancy Michna, Joseph Manes, John Schnyer, Mark Kugler, David Prahm and Raymond Drew, Comptroller Alice Proulx and Personnel Director Thomas Gritt.
Mayor Bingham called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

MINUTES #27 On a motion by Councilor Jerram, seconded by Councilor Carbone, the Board voted unanimously to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on April 20, 2009.

PENSION COMPUTATION: D. BARBER #33 On a motion by Councilor Waldron, seconded by Councilor Colangelo, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation for David Barber, Custodian for the City of Torrington Board of Education, effective July 11, 2009, after having completed 26 years of service with the City of Torrington.

PENSION COMPUTATION: A. BIANCHI #45 On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Jerram, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation for Anthony Bianchi, Highway Maintainer for the City of Torrington Street Department, effective May 27, 2009, after having completed 37 years of service with the City of Torrington, with an additional 1 year 7 months of military buy-in time and 4 years under the Early Retirement Incentive Program, for a total of 42 years.

PENSION COMPUTATION: J. STEFERAK #50 On a motion by Councilor Dalla Valle, seconded by Councilor Carbone, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation for John Steferak, Chief Construction Inspector for the City of Torrington Engineering Department, effective July 1, 2009, after having completed 31 years of service with the City of Torrington, with an additional 2 years of military buy-in time and 4 years under the Early Retirement Incentive Program, for a total of 37 years.

PENSION COMPUTATION: R. BELOSKI #58 On a motion by Councilor Dalla Valle, seconded by Councilor Carbone, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation for Richard Beloski, Engineering Assistant for the City of Torrington Engineering Department, effective July 1, 2009, after having completed 31 years of service with the City of Torrington, with an additional 4 years under the Early Retirement Incentive Program, for a total of 35 years.

PENSION COMPUTATION: J. MANES #62 On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Colangelo, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation for Joseph Manes, Equipment Mechanic for the City of Torrington Street Department, effective October 31, 2009, after having completed 15 years of service with the City of Torrington.

BUS: BOARD OF TRUSTEES #68 On a motion by Councilor Colangelo, seconded by Councilor Waldron, the Board voted unanimously to consider business from the Board of Trustees. Councilor Carbone noted that the combined years of service for these employees totals 114 years. Thomas Jerram thanked everyone who gave their adult working life to the City. Councilor Soliani also thanked them for their years of service.
