REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT FUND
September 6, 2016

A REGULAR MEETING of the Board of Trustees of the City Employees Retirement Fund was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the City Hall Auditorium.

Those in attendance included Mayor Elinor Carbone, Corporation Counsel Jaime LaMere, and Members of the Board of Trustees of the City Employees Retirement Fund Paul Cavagnero, Gregg Cogswell, Anne Ruwet, Luisa Noujaim, Daniel Farley, Mark Zordan, Alan Regner, Nancy Michna, and Raymond Drew.
Members Drake Waldron, Sheryl Lewis, Robert Lizotte, Christopher Paganini and City Treasurer Arthur Mattiello were absent.
Mayor Carbone called the meeting to order at 6:52 p.m.

Minutes
On a motion by Councilor Cogswell, seconded by Councilor Noujaim, the Board voted unanimously to accept the minutes of the Regular Meeting held jointly with the Board of Trustees of the Police & Firemen’s Pension Fund on February 1, 2016.

Actuarial Services Contract
On a motion by Councilor Cogswell, seconded by Councilor Farley, the Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the selection committee comprised of the Mayor, Personnel Director, Comptroller and Deputy Comptroller to award the Actuarial Services contract to Hooker & Holcombe, Inc. of West Hartford, CT, for the next two fiscal years for the contracted amount of $22,000/valuation year and $7,000/non-valuation year, pending City Council approval.  Mayor Carbone explained that the selection committee agreed unanimously that these were the best qualified and most accessible services.

Pension Computation:  T. Lopardo
On a motion by Councilor Farley, seconded by Councilor Noujaim, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation effective April 16, 2016, for Thomas Lopardo, Foreman for the Street Department, after 28.05 years of service.

Pension Computation:  P. Kelehan
On a motion by Councilor Cogswell, seconded by Councilor Farley, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation effective June 15, 2016 for Mrs. Margaret Kelehan, the widow of Paul J. Kelehan, former Caretaker II for the City of Torrington Parks Department.

Pension Computation: J. Schnyer
On a motion by Councilor Farley, seconded by Councilor Cogswell, the Board voted unanimously to accept the pension computation effective June 11, 2016 for John Schnyer, Mason for the Street Department, after 24.55 years of service.

Adjournment
On a motion by Councilor Cavagnero, seconded by Councilor Cogswell, the meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
