MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE POLICE & FIREMEN’S PENSION FUND
SEPTEMBER 7, 2016
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Police & Firemen’s Pension Fund was held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Those in attendance included Mayor Elinor Carbone and members of the Board of Trustees of the Police & Firemen’s Pension Fund Angelo LaMonica, Richard Zaharek, Douglas Benedetto, Robert Conforti, Glenn McLeod, Darlene Battle, Oscar Segui, and Alex Rehnberg. Members Edward Delisle and Stephen Krzanowski were absent.
Mayor Carbone called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.
Minutes
On a motion by Commissioner Benedetto, seconded by Commissioner Battle, the Board voted unanimously to accept the minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 4, 2016.
Actuarial Services Contract
On a motion by Commissioner Conforti, seconded by Commissioner LaMonica, the Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the selection committee comprised of the Mayor, Personnel Director, Comptroller and Deputy Comptroller to award the Actuarial Services contract to Hooker & Holcombe, Inc. of West Hartford, CT, for the next two fiscal years for the contracted amount of $22,000/valuation year and $7,000/non-valuation year, pending City Council approval. Mayor Carbone explained that cost was not the only criteria, but consideration was also given to proximity, familiarity with Connecticut law and expertise in municipal pension accounts.
Adjournment
On a motion by Commissioner Benedetto, seconded by Commissioner LaMonica, the meeting was adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
