ACT SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
January 18th, 2017| 8:00am | City Hall Auditorium

Attendance: Ed Cannata, Rachel Kelly, Bill Haygood, Janet Iffland, Stacey Caren

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ed Cannata at 8:07am

The commission discussed the idea of hanging artwork in the City Hall Auditorium.  A suggestion was made to title it “City Space”.  Bill Haygood reported that Five Points Gallery would be able to provide a hanging rack system to hang artwork from.  The commission discussed coming up with details on how to get artists interested in participating in the project. Tim Waldron offered to do some research into how other towns run similar initiatives and would report back.

The commission discussed the upcoming Saturday in the Park event.  Rachel Kelly is drafting an application form which will be available hopefully by the end of January.  Completed forms and payments would be sent to the Mayor’s office.  Janet Iffland suggested reaching out to the Northwest Arts Council for help in spreading the word and getting individuals to apply.

A minimum of 20 vendors is the goal, and approx. 4-6 food vendors who would be located in the parking lot of the park.

Ed Cannata reported his idea to have the train from the Main Street Marketplace be a part of the event, giving rides to children along the sidewalk in the park.  Additionally, he is working with the Historical Society to have a presentation on the history of Coe Memorial Park take place inside the Civic Center.

Work will continue on the application form in the next two weeks and discussion/planning will continue at the next ACT meeting.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion made by Bill Haygood, seconded by Rachel Kelly.  The meeting ended at 9:05am.

Respectfully submitted,

Tim Waldron
