SPECIAL MEETING
June 11, 2014 – 10 a.m. – City Hall Auditorium

        Present: Jessica Hodorski, Kim Fazzino, Fiona De Merrell, Sharon Waagner, and Alec Johnson.
                This was a special meeting called to discuss the final arrangements and planning for 2014 Main Street Market Place.   Alec Johnson was the representative for the Republican American for discussion regarding the newspaper insert with map that is being provided by the newspaper.
        The meeting was opened to the public at 10:05.   As there was no quorum, those present worked on the details as known for Main Street Market Place.
        Kim reported that there would be a total of 33 paid vendors, two non-profit vendors and the Republican American booth in place each week.   Jessica reported that income to date totaled $26, 330 and expenses were $19,950 which included hiring four policemen for each evening.  Kim said she is still seeking 5 or 6 vendors.    Performance Hub will be providing in kind entertainment at City Hall from 5 to 6 each Thursday.  The entertainment for the 7 to 9 time slot has also been finalized.  Erin has some contracts and is awaiting others.
        Sponsors include Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, UCONN, Paradigm, Toyota and Northwest Hills Chrysler and we are awaiting word from others.   Sponsors will be promoted in the weekly brochure.    Evan will digitize the market place map for Its Happening Here and it will also be available on other sites.   Fiona is reaching out to volunteers.   We have four high school interns working with Erin for the summer who will be assisting as well as members of the mayor’s committee for youth.
        The theme weeks have been set as follows:   Week 1 – Arts Desire and the arts, Week 2 – Pet Adoption Week, Week 3 – Sports, Week 4 – Fashion and Bridal shows, Week 5 – Community Night, Week 6 – Carnival, Week 7 – Fitness, and Week 8 – Manufacturer’s Coalition.
        Work on the map is continuing as vendors are being identified.

        The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
