II. Introduction/Welcome of any Visitors
Henry and Suzanne from Ravenbane’s Firecraft: fire performers
III. Acceptance of Previous Meeting Minutes: Accepted
IV. Sub Committee Reports:
- Singer Songwriter Network – Jacque Williams: SSN will have a present at the Feb 27th CAFTA Wine Tasting Fundraiser 6pm-9pm. Still providing entertainment at Backstage on Thursday and Friday evenings starting at 8pm with various performers. Latest project collaboration is a song promoting the City of Torrington.
- Main Street Marketplace – Steve Criss: planning to start weekly meetings in March for MSMP committee. Talking with DOT on which parts of renovations of Main St will be worked on, MSMP will be most likely be moved and extended past Historical Society. MSMP 2012 will run for 10 weeks on Thursday nights starting the last week in June thru the last week in August. Still have some funds left over from 2011 MSMP.
- Artspace- Looking for chairman for this project. Jacque, Gail , Bill, on committee.
- Arts Research Project – need to establish a research committee. Sally volunteered for this project.
V. New Year/New Initatives:
Steve Criss reviewed list. A special meeting for those able to attend from ACT for a review and discussion of the Economic Driver Survey. Email Steve with best date for meeting.
Ethnic Food Fest – committee members Jessica, Sharon, Gail.
Pop Art Music Fest – Jacque for summer of 2012
Mural Project- state selected 10 communities for murals, Torrington one of them and we need to apply. Letter of Intent sent for spring of 2012. Tim Waldron explained in more detail.
VI. Open Floor
Sally noted Wed April 18th 730pm the Synagogue would be hosting a commemoration of the Holocaust,
The Innkeepers movie premiere Feb 8 at the Warner Red Carpet event. Two showings.
Titanic at the Warner Feb 4-11.
Jacque back on air soon at WAPJ. Renovation completed.
Rhythm and Blues Doo –Wop Review with Jacque and Antoine Happy Hour at T-Place Fri 6-8pm
