V. Sub Committee Reports:

i.      Light Up Main – Jessica/Rose- Light Up Main will take place on Friday, November 25th beginning at 4:45pm.  The list of events taking place thus far is as follows:
                Park and Rec Toy Shower at the Yankee Peddlar Inn
                Story Time by the Torrington Library at the Yankee Peddlar Inn at 4:45
                Brazen Betties Artisan Bazaar at Coe Park
                Carriage Rides to Coe Park beginning at 4:45
                Lighting of the Coe Park Tree, City Hall Tree and Christmas House
                        beginning at 5:30
                Nutmeg Ballet presentation in the Dance Shoppe Windows
                The Torrington Cluster of Roman Catholic Churches Live Nativity
                Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats at the Warner Theatre
                CAFTAs Italian Film Festival at 6:30

VI. Open Floor

Rose Ponte reported that she just attended a conference on Burlington Vermont that that she discovered that more frequently special events are a key economic driver in the revitalize a downtowns.  Also analisis of demographics attending these events is important. She suggested that at our December meeting we brainstorm more evetns to plan on top of those that we already participate in or plan.  Some ideas include:
        Mardi Gras Parade
        Victorian Stroll for Christmas
        Curb Appeal Day
        Singer/Songwriter Network and because of its success, what’s the next step?

Steve reported that the MSMP tents need to be moved by Monday, November 11th back to City Hall.  

Sharon Waagner reported that Studio 59 is opening soon and is collaborating with Fifth Letter Productions. The old Artspace building also has a potential leaser of special events.  Catapult Production Company in the old Nutmeg Building.

CAFTA is bustling with activity and on November 6th is participating in National Drug Awareness month. They are also working with the Girl Scouts to host a development day for young girls.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES
Mon     6 – 9 pm PERFORMANCE LAB T-Place Sports Bar & Grill
Thurs   8 – 11 Singer/Songwriter Artist Showcase Backstage:
        November line up to be announced.

PROPOSED ACTIVITIES
Singer/Songwriters 2nd Year Anniversary has been postponed.
Word-Up:  Spoken Word Collaboration w/Torrington Library, Litchfield County Writers Project @ U-Conn starting in October has been delayed.
Studio 316, the recording studio owned and operated by Joe Mazzarella and engineer Jim Cattey is up and running.
The studio serves as an affiliate of the Singer/Songwriter Network. Singer/Songwriter Network members will be able to use the facility at a 50% discount.
We are still accepting submissions for the first volume of the Singer/Songwriter Network compilation disc.
The project to produce a Torrington motivational/theme song is almost completed.
We want to thank the Torrington Downtown Partners for allowing us to perform at their1 year anniversary event.
There is no update on our offer to Brother Jerry Davidson of Trinity Church for the position of music manuscript writer for all Singer/Songwriter compilation projects.
SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES
1)      Start recognizing and developing artist/musicians within the music programs of the Torrington School District.
2)      Develop features and benefits for a Singer/Songwriter Membership Package.
3)       To utilize discovertorrington.com as a destination for artist/members sign up and to announce events & activities.
