V. Sub Committee Reports:

Mural Project – Rose Ponte
Second phase funded by an anonymous donor.  The donor was impressed by the project and the involvement of the children and that’s how the funding came about.  It’s currently being completed and cost $25,000.   He is planning on painting in a matriarch watching over the children and they decided on Polly Doremus. THS will also supply Torrington based written letters for the project to incorporate. Phase two makes it look more complete and it does stir good interest and makes downtown look youthful and vibrant.  It will defiantly be finished by winter.

Artspace: Torrington – Lynn/Gail
Closing Night Party will take place tomorrow night with a private reception from 5:00-6:00 and a public closing from 6:00-7:00.  Everyone involved will receive an invitation to the event.  We encourage everyone to stop into the gallery space and see the artwork for one last time.  The artists will vacate by September 15th.

Main Street Marketplace – Rose/Steve
Final event this Thursday night! So far everything has gone well.  Looks like we’ve covered our expenses and have put everything we made back into the event.  Over 70 vendors were booked this year, which is great! THS will be open again.  Electric Car will be on display.

Singer/Songwriter Network – Jacques
Please see Attachment A.  The Ladies and Lyrics event went wonderfully with about 50 people in attendance.  It was catered by Hector Avila and there were four performers.

Light-Up Main-
ACT needs to decide who will attend the meeting and what are we going to bring to the event. Meeting is scheduled in the Mayor’s Office for Wednesday, September 7th at 1:30pm.  Park and Rec will host their toy shower on Light-Up Main Night at Yankee Peddlar and they will also do another one.  It is suggested that we help augment that event and draw as many people to it as possible. Litchfield Country Screen Project might want to do something during Light Up Main and continue it into the winter.  Jacque Williams and Jessica Hodorski will attend.
