MINUTES                                                                                                                                                                       
BOARD OF FINANCE
January 17, 2017


A REGULAR MEETING of the Board of Finance was held in the City Hall Auditorium on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

Present were Mayor Elinor Carbone and Board of Finance members JoAnn Fenty, Laurene Pesce, Mark Bushka, Christopher Anderson, Frank Rubino and Joshua Ferreira.  Police Chief Michael Maniago and Comptroller Alice Proulx were also present.

Mayor Carbone called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Oath of Office administered to JoAnn Fenty as the new Board Member.

MINUTES
On a motion by Mr. Ferreira, seconded by Mrs. Pesce, the Board voted unanimously to accept the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on December 20, 2016.

OPEN TO PUBLIC
On a motion by Mr. Bushka, seconded by Mr. Ferreira, the Board voted unanimously to open the meeting to the public.  There was no one present who wished to speak.

Mr. Anderson arrived at 5:02 p.m.

VEHICLE REPLACEMENT SCHEDULE DEVIATIONS:  Police Dept.
On a motion by Mr. Rubino, seconded by Mrs. Pesce, the Board voted unanimously to approve the following deviations to the Vehicle Replacement Schedule for the Police Department:  

  • Price increases for Patrol Units 3001, 3002, 3005 and 3014 from $38,756 to $41,614.35
  • The retainage of retired vehicles as extra duty detail units, with no major repairs thereafter
  • Schedule adjustment - Crime Scene Van 3038 moved to the 17/18 fiscal year
  • Schedule adjustment – Replace Body only of Prisoner Transport Wagon 3026  
BRD. OF EDUC. FINANCIAL REPORT
On a motion by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Ferreira, the Board voted unanimously to accept the Board of Education financial report as presented.

BUSINESS: Mayor and Members
On a motion by Mrs. Pesce, seconded by Mr. Bushka, the Board voted unanimously to consider business presented by the Mayor and members of the Board of Finance.

Mayor Carbone noted that Ms. Fenty and Mrs. Pesce will serve on the 2017 Budget Subcommittee.

ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Ms. Fenty, the Board voted unanimously to adjourn at 5:11 p.m.
