FUESSENICH PARK PARTNERSHIP COMMISSION

DRAFT MINUTES

JULY 26, 2011

Present: Brian Mattiello, Chairman; Paul Summers, Secretary; Gerry Carbone, Chris

Cook, Collin Good

Also present: Cleveland Fuessenich, Brett Simmons, Superintendent of Parks and

Recreation; (ex-officio members)

Not Present: Jennifer Ives-Groebl, Gary Mercier, Jack FitzGerald, Mary Coutant (all

excused)

1. Review of other Fundraising Activities: Brian indicated that the donation box was

still available for Titan games. The committee discussed having the box at the Main

Street Marketplace. Brian will report on what has been raised so far by the fundraising

letters. The committee also expects to join in a fundraising event later this year with the

Titans.

2. Park Update: Brett discussed that the estimate for replacement of the bleachers is

more costlier than originally thought. The committee discussed doing a project

that would have a more immediate impact on the Park. Several aesthetic ideas were

discussed including a new sound system. The committee also discussed other ideas for

the Park including replacing the right field bleachers with a lawn area. The committee

reaffirmed its desire to make expenditures for projects in the first year in the amount of

approximately $20,000. A meeting is scheduled for August with the Titans and the Parks

and Recreation to discuss capital projects and also payment to the committee for its share

of signage revenue.

3. Next Steps and Next Meeting: The committee will meet after the Titans and Park

and Recreation meeting. Members were encouraged to send out the rest of their

fundraising letters.

4. Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Cook, seconded by Mr.

Carbone and passed unanimously at 6:40 pm.
