CITY COUNCIL & WPC AUTHORITY
June 4, 2015
A Special and Telephonic Meeting was held by the City Council & WPC Authority in the Mayor’s Office on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
Those in attendance included Mayor Elinor Carbone and Corporation Counsel Raymond Rigat. City Councilors Christopher Anderson, Paul Samele, Drake Waldron and Gregg Cogswell participated by telephone. City Councilors Paul Cavagnero and Anne Ruwet were absent.
Mayor Carbone called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m.
Senior Center Cooling System
Mayor Carbone explained the inoperative air conditioning at the Senior Center and the need to act quickly. She said this purchase, from a City vendor, will be covered by grant funding and that she feels it is prudent and appropriate for the City Council to waive the bid process in this matter.
On a motion by Councilor Cogswell, seconded by Councilor Samele, the Council voted unanimously to accept the Elderly Services Director’s recommendation to waive the bid process and award a contract to Tradesmen of New England, LLC from Bloomfield, CT for Cooling System Repairs in the amount of $19,922 using grant funds.
Adjournment
On a motion by Councilor Waldron, seconded by Councilor Cogswell, the Council voted unanimously to adjourn at 1:06 p.m.
