SPECIAL AND TELEPHONIC MEETING
CITY COUNCIL & WPC AUTHORITY
July 24, 2013
A SPECIAL AND TELEPHONIC MEETING was held by the City Council & WPC Authority in the Mayor's Office on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.
Those in attendance included Mayor Ryan Bingham, Corporation Counsel Raymond Rigat, along with City Councilors Marie Soliani and Paul Samele. Participating via telephone were City Councilors Elinor Carbone and Gregg Cogswell. Also present was Atty. Melinda Howell representing the Hartford Dispensary. City Councilors Drake Waldron and Gerald Zordan were absent.
Mayor Bingham called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Samele, the Council voted unanimously to enter Executive Session under pending litigation at 10:01 a.m. inviting both Atty. Rigat and Atty. Howell.
OPEN SESSION
On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Samele, the Council voted unanimously to return to open session at 10:10 a.m.
SETTLEMENT: Hartford Dispensary
On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Samele, the Council voted unanimously to approve a settlement of $110,000 to the Hartford Dispensary, paid for by the City's insurance carrier, CIRMA, to resolve the federal lawsuit and pending zoning appeal.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Samele, the Council voted unanimously to adjourn at 10:12 a.m.
