SPECIAL TELEPHONIC MEETING
CITY COUNCIL & WPC AUTHORITY
AUGUST 21, 2012
A SPECIAL TELEPHONIC MEETING was held by the City Council & WPC Authority in the Mayor's Office on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
Present were Mayor Ryan Bingham and City Councilors Gerald Zordan, Elinor Carbone and Marie Soliani. City Councilors Gregg Cogswell and Drake Waldron participated via telephone. City Councilor Paul Samele was absent. Also present were City Engineer Ed Fabbri, Purchasing Agent Pennie Zucco and Mayoral Aide Timothy Waldron.
Mayor Bingham called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
PAVEMENT PRESERVATION: Kennedy Dr. & Dibble St.
On a motion by Councilor Zordan, seconded by Councilor Carbone, the Council considered acceptance of City Purchasing Agent Pennie Zucco's and City Engineer Edward Fabbri's recommendation to authorize the Mayor to award a contract to Waters Construction Company, Inc. of Bridgeport, CT, in the amount of $873,754.70 and also authorize the Mayor to act on the behalf of the City regarding the execution of the contract and its administration including approval of payment applications.
Councilor Carbone asked if this vendor has been used in the past. Mr. Fabbri replied that it has been used in town, and since it is a fairly large paving company, he is very comfortable with hiring them.
Councilor Carbone asked what the timeline is, and Mr. Fabbri replied that they should start by the end of September and end by the middle of October.
A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Councilor Soliani, seconded by Councilor Carbone, the Council voted unanimously to adjourn at 10:02 a.m.
