SPECIAL TELEPHONIC MEETING
CITY COUNCIL & WPC AUTHORITY
JULY 25, 2012
A SPECIAL TELEPHONIC MEETING was held by the City Council & WPC Authority in the Mayor's Office on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
Present were Mayor Ryan Bingham, City Councilor Gerald Zordan and the Director of Economic Development, Rose Ponte. City Councilors Marie Soliani, Gregg Cogswell and Drake Waldron participated via telephone. City Councilors Paul Samele and Elinor Carbone were absent.
Mayor Bingham called the meeting to order at 10:04 a.m.
RETAIL CONSULTANT – Margie Johnson
On a motion by Councilor Zordan, seconded by Councilor Soliani, the Council considered approval of ‘Shop Talk with Margie Johnson’ as retail consultant to conduct technical visits and workshops for downtown retailers to be paid for with Preservation of Place Grant funds.
Councilor Soliani said she is very excited about Ms. Johnson coming to Torrington with new ideas. She is pleased to hear that this program is not just concentrating on downtown retailers, and that all retailers in Torrington can take advantage of this.
Mayor Bingham said that it targets downtown retailers, and agreed that it's good that others can benefit as well.
A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Councilor Waldron, seconded by Councilor Zordan, the Council voted unanimously to adjourn at 10:06 a.m.
