MINUTES BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY APRIL 27, 2009

A SPECIAL MEETING of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Elks Lodge.
|
Those in attendance included Mayor Ryan J. Bingham, Board of Public Safety members Gerald A. Zordan, Richard Zaharek, Douglas J. Benedetto, James E. Potter, Christopher Cook and Robert C. Zordan, City Council Members Marie Soliani, Rick Dalla Valle and Drake Waldron, Captain Todd Schaller, Lt. Bruce Whiteley, Lt. Louis Gonzalez and Lt. Michael Emanuel of the Torrington Police Department. Others attending included Thomaston Police Chief Gene Torrance, Middlebury Police Chief Richard Giusti, Captain Eric Ostanich and Lt. Thomas Grimaldi of the Bristol Police Department, and Constable Steve Tokarz of the Woodbury Police Department. Also State Senator Kevin Witkos and State Representative Michelle Cook. Chief John Field, Lieut. Michael Soliani of
the Torrington Fire Department, and many other active and retired police and fire department members.

Mayor Bingham called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.
|
Prior to the swearing-in ceremony, State Senator Kevin Witkos, Representative Michelle Cook, and Chief Michael Maniago spoke.
The oath for the newly promoted officers: Deputy Chief Christopher Smedick, Captain Francis Balzano, Lieut. Kerwin Anders, Sergeant James Delay, and Detective Richard Dowd was administered by Mayor Ryan Bingham.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
