MINUTES
         BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY
         MARCH 25, 2009



A SPECIAL  MEETING of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in the Senior Center Main Room.

Those in attendance included Mayor Ryan J. Bingham, members of the Board of Public Safety Gerald A. Zordan, Douglas J. Benedetto, James E. Potter, Christopher Cook and Robert C. Zordan, Acting Police Chief Michael Maniago, Traffic Officer Robert Shopey, Deputy Fire Chief Jaye Giampaolo, Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator Thomas Vannini, Assistant to the Mayor Stephen Nocera and Comptroller Alice Proulx.

Mayor Bingham called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.



FIRE  #40
On a motion by Commissioner Potter, seconded by Commissioner G.Zordan, the Board voted unanimously to approve the Fire Dept. Budget of $4,762,778.

POLICE #270
Commissioner Potter made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Cook, to  approve the Police Budget. Commissioner Potter amended his motion to “tentatively approve”; Commissioner Cook amended his second. The board unanimously voted to tentatively approve the Police Budget of $8,416,002.

CANINE #675
On a motion by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner R.Zordan, the Board voted unanimously to approve the Canine Budget of $99,931.

TRAFFIC #718
Commissioner Cook made a motion, seconded by Commissioner R.Zordan, to approve the Traffic Budget. Commissioner Cook amended his motion to “tentatively approve”; Commissioner R. Zordan amended his second. The board unanimously voted to tentatively approve the Traffic Budget of $313,308.

PUBLIC SAFETY MISC. #875
On a motion by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner R.Zordan, the Board voted unanimously to approve the Public Safety Budget of $1,900,275.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS #916
On a motion by Commissioner G.Zordan, seconded by Commissioner Cook, the Board voted unanimously to approve the Emergency Preparedness Budget of $33,086.

ADJOURNMENT #936
On a motion by Commissioner Potter, seconded by Commissioner Benedetto, the board voted unanimously to adjourn at 7:28 p.m.
