COE PARK WINS LANDSCAPE DESIGN AWARD
TORRINGTON – City officials learned Thursday that the new Coe Park, that last year underwent a multi-million dollar restoration and renovations makeover, won a design award from the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
The park and its chief designers, Ferrero Hixon Associates of Simsbury, won a Merit Award and this week were mentioned in the Connecticut ASLA 2005 report.
“I think it’s great that the changes going on here in Torrington are being seen by people from all over as positive and special,” Mayor Owen Quinn said. “This award is just more evidence of that.”
Earlier this year, Coe Park was named to the Mayor’s Magnificent 7, a list of properties cited for their beautification and overall improvement.
