CITY OF TORRINGTON TO HOST
RESIDENTIAL ELECTRONICS COLLECTION
AT THE TORRINGTON WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY
On Saturday, October 1st, the City of Torrington will be hosting an electronics recycling day for Torrington residents and residents of CRRA member towns. Torrington residents can recycle old electronics by bringing them to the City’s Water Pollution Control Facility located on Bogue Road on Saturday, October 1st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for recycling. Items to bring include computers, monitors, cell phones, TVs, VCRs, copiers, fax machines, printers, radios, and stereos. (Electronics from businesses and institutions are not acceptable.)
Once collected, the Connecticut Resource Recovery Authority contractor will dismantle the old electronics and recycle the raw materials and products such as CRT glass, plastic, circuit boards, wood and metal.
Torrington residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to help protect the environment.
Old electronics will not be collected during the planned Household Hazardous Waste Day scheduled for October 22, 2005.
