TORRINGTON – The City of Torrington is seeking interested vendors for participation in the upcoming Downtown Street Fair. The events, now in their third year, feature a diverse mix of arts and crafts, food, entertainment, a classic car display, and fun for the entire family.
“Our street fairs have become a much anticipated event each year and they get bigger and better every summer,” said Mayor Owen J. Quinn. “These fairs not only allow local businesses and vendors the chance to sell their wares, but it also allows us as a community to showcase our city and our great downtown.”
The fair will be held on Sunday September 25th from 11 AM to 4 PM on Main Street. Booth spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee for vendors is $40.
A previous Street Fair on June 26th featured 50-plus vendors that showcased various products including adult and children’s clothing, nostalgic collectors metal signs, educational toys and books, hand crafted jewelry, decorative folk art painting, silk floral arrangements, fleece blankets, watercolor paintings, sports memorabilia, children’s furniture, vintage linens, and much more.
The June fair also featured two bands, Ketih Hall and The Scavengers, and an interactive circus performance by Matica. Ongoing was a classic car show, clowns entertaining children with balloon animals, free face painting, and karate demonstrations.
Vendors interested in participating in the Street Fair can contact the Office of Economic Development at 860-496-5920 or email renaissance@torringtonct.org. Vendors may also contact Howard Nodine during the evenings or weekends at 860-496-7853.
