NEW SKATEBOARD PARK PROJECT
TO GET FIRST PUBLIC VIEWING THURSDAY
TORRINGTON – The Mayor’s Committee on Youth will hold a special meeting Thursday at 6 p.m., (June 30, 2005) in the City Hall auditorium to review the City’s plan to build a skateboard park.
The meeting, organized by the committee comprised of City teens, will give local skateboard, bicycle and Rollerblade enthusiasts their first chance at seeing the layout for the park.
“I think a lot of kids in town have been waiting for a skateboard park for far too long,” said Mayor Owen J. Quinn. “I have made it a priority this year for my Parks officials and I want to see it up and running by the fall.”
John Timm, Torrington’s Parks & Recreation Superintendent, will make the presentation to the youth committee. Conceptual plans will also be available on-line at the City’s website following the meeting Thursday.
