Torrington to Host Downtown Street Fair on Sunday June 26th
TORRINGTON – The City of Torrington invites the public to celebrate the kickoff to summer at the Downtown Street Fair this Sunday. The fair will be held on Sunday June 26th from 11 AM to 4 PM on Main Street. The free event will feature a diverse mix of vendors, food, entertainment, a classic car show, and fun for the entire family.
“Our street fairs have become a much anticipated event each year and they get bigger and better every summer,” said Mayor Owen J. Quinn. “These fairs not only allow local businesses and vendors the chance to sell their wares, but it also allows us as a community to showcase our city and our great downtown.”
50-plus vendors will be showcasing their products, including adult and children’s clothing, nostalgic collectors metal signs, educational toys and books, hand crafted jewelry, decorative folk art painting, silk floral arrangements, fleece blankets, watercolor paintings, sports memorabilia, home made bath oils and soaps, windchimes, sand art, children’s furniture, vintage linens, and much more.
The entertainment schedule is as follows:
12:00 - Keith Hall will perform contemporary acoustic guitar
2:00 - The band, Scavengers, will perform folk rock
2:00 - Jokir Creations will capture audiences by presenting skills in juggling, the famed Chinese yo-yo, and extreme unicycling. Children will have the opportunity following the performance to try their hand at juggling.

Ongoing will be a classic car show, clowns entertaining the children with balloon animals, free face painting by Torrington High School art students and karate demonstrations. The Torrington Twisters will be returning this year to provide autographs to children.
Free cotton candy will be distributed, courtesy of NW Hills Credit Union. In addition, WSNG AM 610 will be present with free prize giveaways.
