FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Office of Economic Development

April 19, 2005

TORRINGTON – The City of Torrington is seeking interested arts, craft and food vendors for participation in the upcoming Downtown Street Fairs.  The events, now in their third year, will feature a diverse mix of arts and crafts, food, entertainment and fun for the entire family.  Past fairs have attracted approximately 2,000 visitors to Downtown Torrington.

The fairs will be held on Sunday June 26th and September 25th from 11 AM to 4 PM on Main Street.  Booth spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  The registration fee for vendors is $40 for one fair, or $70 to participate at both fairs.

“Our street fairs have become a much anticipated event each year and they get bigger and better every summer,” said Mayor Owen J. Quinn.  “These fairs not only allow local businesses and vendors the chance to sell their wares, but it also allows us as a community to showcase our city and our great downtown.”
Vendors interested in participating in the Street Fair can contact the Office of Economic Development at 860-496-5920 or email renaissance@torringtonct.org.  Vendors may also contact Howard Nodine during the evenings or weekends at 860-496-7853.
