The new City Hall hours are as follows:
Monday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
New hours start Monday, June 16th
The new office hours will better serve the public, will provide uniform hours of operation and will extend hours on Thursday evenings as an additional way for City government to be more user friendly and provide additional customer service to the public.
The effect of the changes in hours of government will continue the trend of this administration to make City government more accessible to the public. This was started with E-Mail capabilities and the Torrington Web- Site being developed within the last year and a half. All of the measures improve accessibility of municipal government to the public.
City Hall is a critical fixture in downtown Torrington and Thursday evenings of operation will surely add to downtown activities by making dining, shopping and access to City Hall possible.
Many Torrington residents are commuters and this schedule will assist people who work out of town and cannot get to City Hall during traditional hours of operation.
