ORDER of BUSINESS:
Call to Order at 9:10 AM
Attendance - Jean Armitage, Ruth Buchanan, Jennifer Clark, Mira Munson, Pat Storey, Dave Spidal
Review of Minutes – The minutes of June 13, 2017 were reviewed and unanimously approved
Outreach Worker report – Cynthia was unable to attend but her report is attachment 1.
Consortium Report – Phil Burns has resigned and the consortium is working with the Hilltown Community Health Centers to replace him.
HVES Report – All is quiet.
Treasurers Report – Dave presented the attached trial balances for the Y/E 2016-2017 (Attach 2) and it was unanimously approved. He also presented the Budget for 2017-2018 (Attach.3) and it was unanimously accepted.
Upcoming Events
Feisty Fall Feast – Friday Sept. 22 – The preliminary menu is Garden Salad, Pot Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots. Eric Munson Jr. said he can assist with the food prep.
Old Business
Yoga – Update – Going very well, Dave presented the attendance sheet – (Attach 4)
Souper Thursdays – Update – Attendance has fallen way down as the attached report (Attach. 5) shows. It was unanimously agreed to discontinue the program immediately.
Transportation – Review Program – No rides this month.
Birthday Cards – Status Update – 11 mailed in July. Pat has to print more labels for Ruth once the mailing list is updated.
Turning 60 Package – Seniorhood – Still a work in slow progress by Pat.
New Business
Planning for Medicare Seminar – due to the press of other activities it was decided not to hold this program.
Health Fair – The Health Fair is preliminary planned for Oct 14 from 10 to 1. Back up date is Sept. 30. This is dependent on the availability of Flu vaccines and Porchlight VNA.
Sarah Gillett Fund – Ruth received a check for a grant of $240 from Sarah Gillett. It will be used to purchase File of Life folders, forms and stickers. These will be distributed at our various town functions and by Cynthia.
Computer – Ruth will meet with Jess K. To discuss a computer for the COA.
Smoke Alarms – The Fire Dept. in conjunction with the Red Cross, will be distributing and installing Smoke Alarms. The COA will help identify people who need them.
Special Meeting – A special meeting was scheduled for Aug. 22 to stuff envelopes for the mailing. The main theme of the attachments will be Medicare / Insurance renewal and Home Assistance Services. Members should bring potential attachments to the Aug. 8 meeting.
