MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – November 24, 2014 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine
Also Present: Ed Deming
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Ed spoke on the continuing education requirements for the highway crew to keep their hoisting license up to date. Ed, Robert and Stephen will take the online course using the Superintendents PC.
Tolland’s participation with Tri-County will cover officer training for the officer being trained to cover vacation and sick time. A Tolland uniform for the officer will be the only additional expense.
With the Board of Selectmen appointing a “back up officer” the Tolland Police Department would be staffed with 6 officers. (Chief, 3 Officers and 2 Back Up). Each Officer would be scheduled for 8 hours weekly.
The Selectmen has requested the officer to attend their Selectmen’s meeting on December 1.
Received a letter from Jessica Kelmelis, Assessor Clerk in regards to assessing the current solar farm. Jess stated that she has hired a consultant to assistant in determining the value. And if all goes well and a value is determined a Special Town Meeting can be scheduled. The board scheduled a Special Town Meeting for January 5th.
