MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – June 2, 2014 5:00 PM

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Joshua Garcia presented “A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)” for the Selectboards consideration. The agreement will be reviewed by the board and discussed at a future meeting.
Pat Storey – Last year Phil Grannan applied to the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission on Tolland’s behalf to develop a Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan is necessary for the town to be eligible for FEMA and MEMA grants for Hazard Mitigation. Pat has been asked to coordinate the town’s work group. The Board of Selectmen will appoint a “Tolland Hazard Mitigation Work Group” to work with the PVPC to write Tolland’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Ed received a estimate on the paving of Colebrook River Road and possibilities of paving Burt Hill Road. The estimated cost of Colebrook River Road with reclaiming, hot Mix Asphalt 3” Binder Course and Hot Mix Asphalt 1 ½” Top Course is $368,000 +/-. The Board of Selectmen has directed Ed to proceed with the reclaiming and 3” binder. No decision was made on the paving of Burt Hill Road.
The Board of Selectmen has authorized Ed Deming as Police Chief to start scheduling detail officers when needed.
Received a letter from WPOA in regards to non WPOA members crossing the property owned by the town and entering WPOA’s lake. The letter was taken under advisement.
Received a letter from Marcella Waugh in regards to the condition of the town’s cemetery. The letter was passed onto the Cemetery committee.
