MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING –  April 14, 2014 5:00 PM

Selectmen Present:        Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine

Also Present:       Joanne Duval
                           
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Joanne presented the board with a revised 2015 Transfer Station Budget. Projected cost for the Transfer Station is $38,338.43. Projected Receipts is $23,705.00 leaving a transfer from Retained Earnings of $14,633.43 to balance the Transfer Station budget.

Joanne was under the understanding that part of the process in removing the trees on Burt Hill Road was the tops that were dropped would be removed. The Selectboard stated that once Ed Deming, Highway Superintendent returns from vacation he will schedule the clean up.

Joanne inquired as to what the plans are for Burt Hill Road. Steve stated that the project to repair Burt Hill Road has not been scheduled for 2014, if monies allow the project will be scheduled for 2015.

Tolland’s share of the 30 Million released from the state for Winter Rapid Recovery Road Program is $24,418. In the absence of Highway Superintendent Bob and Stephen both recommended allocating $4,000 in hot patch or blacktop repair and the balance to purchase road materials.

Steve made motion to reclassify the title of Auxiliary Officer to Police Officer, Eric seconded. Board voted unanimously

6:30 Finance Committee – Ted Locke, Mira Munson and Kathy Parzych

The Board of Selectmen presented the fiscal 2015 budget with a short fall of $52,115.48. Eric made mention that the town had received $45,570 for a building permit which will be receipted into FREE CASH at the end of Fiscal 2014. The Board of Selectmen voted to transfer the short fall from FREE CASH to balance the 2015 budget.
