MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – March 31, 2014 5:00 PM

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Jessica explained two options for Tolland’s email, basic service and collaboration hosted.
The basic service includes 25MB of disk space per user and the Collaboration service includes 1GB of disk space per user. Additional disk space can be purchased for the basic service at $.05 per MB and at $.75 per GB for the collaboration service.
The basic service is used with an email program running on Tolland’s computer. The email is downloaded and removed for Crockers servers and stored on Tolland’s computers. With the collaboration service, the email program is a web mail based program that is run on Tolland’s computer through a web browser like Firefox. The mail is stored on Crockers servers.
The basic service can not perform any type of archiving and archiving can be enabled with the collaboration service. When archiving is enabled, all email is stored as a duplicate copy in another archive mailbox for that email address.
The collaboration service is much more mobile. You can access all your email from any computer with internet and a web browser.
Basic service $19.95/mth collaboration service $123.75/mth.
The Board of Selectmen requested additional financial information and will continue to discuss both plans at their Selectmen’s meeting on Monday, April 07, 2014.
Jessica received a quote from Tolland Mountain Builders to replace the soffits at the Tolland Library. The quote was in the amount of $5,781. The fiscal 2014 budget appropriated $4,000 for the project. Eric made motion that the $4,000 from fiscal 2014 get carried over and that the fiscal 2015 budget include the difference of $1,781.00 to complete the project. Tom seconded.
Joanne Duval presented the fiscal 2015 Transfer Station budget. Joanne recommended that the Transfer Station permit fee be raised to $65. A motion was made by Steve to accept recommendation, motion seconded by Eric. Joanne was requested to revise the 2015 budget as submitted.
Joanne speaking as Animal Control Officer is requesting the Board of Selectmen to install within Tolland’s property a dog kennel. She no longer is able to accommodate dogs that are picked up for the town within her personal property. Ed will assess the availability of space at the Department of Public Works building.
Animal Control’s available hours are Monday – Friday 9Am to 9PM unless it is an emergency.
The Board of Selectmen has nominated Joanne Duval as Inspector of Animals.
Ed submitted a “plan of work” for fiscal 2015. The board requested that Ed get pricing for each of the projects.
The Board of Selectmen authorized Tuesday, April 1 as a compensation day for Ed. Ed will be on vacation from April 11 to April 23rd.
