MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – December 23, 2013 5:00 PM

The Board of Selectmen has given permission to Ed Deming, Superintendent to exclusively plow and sand his own driveway for the purpose of getting to work.
MassWorks awarded on December 12th a $990,000.00 strap grant to the Town of Tolland. The grant will assist the Town of Tolland in repairing Route 57. The grant will include 2” of milling and filling from Burt Hill Road to the Town of Sandisfield’s line. The funds will also be used to repair drainage in along Route 57 in the center of town and repave the roadway. The project is supported by a $40,000 contribution by the town’s chapter 90 monies.
Phil Grannan presented a timeline and the MassWorks grant requirements. A Design Engineer will be contacted to assist the town in the process. A recommendation was received from a surrounding town to contact an Engineer that has been accepted and listed on the state bid, (Foresight Engineering). Foresight Engineering will be contacted and requested to meet with the Board of Selectmen.
