MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – October 3, 2011 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine
Also Present: Jessica Kelmelis, Assessor Clerk
Robert Littlefield, Fire Chief
Frank Fazi, President WPOA
Classification Hearing: The board unanimously approved one tax rate amongst the property classes for FY12.
Amended the minutes of September 26th as follows:
“John Verones gave the board and option of eliminating Construction Material Testing with an approximately cost of $14,000 leaving a contingency balance of $44,774.00. The board accepted John’s recommendation.”
Robert Littlefield and Frank Fazi met with the board to discuss a license agreement for the placement of a dry hydrant. Robert is requesting no restrictions. Frank is requesting the following restrictions during maintenance only: no foreign waters to entry the ponds and only the rescue truck be used. During an emergency the restrictions do not apply. Both the Board of Selectmen and Fire Chief agreed with Frank and a license agreement will be written and presented for signatures.
Department of Public Works submitted overtime payroll of 1 hour. Overtime was not budgeted for in FY12. The Board of Selectmen authorized 2 hrs. of comp time.
A Pole Hearing Request was received from WMECO to install poles at the Tolland Transfer Station. The hearing will take place at the Selectmen’s meeting on Monday, October 17th at 5PM.
Eric informed the board that Senator Michael Knapik was at the Town Hall earlier today and was given a tour of the Public Safety Complex.
